First-party cookies

We don't use any. The app creates no cookies and no IndexedDB storage.

Similar technologies

We keep two values in localStorage. geo_previously_granted remembers that you've already granted the geolocation permission, so we don't show you the onboarding as if this were your first visit; selected_language stores the interface language if you picked one manually. Both stay until you clear the site data or the browser drops that storage.

We also keep two technical values in sessionStorage: proximapp_required_reload_commit and proximapp_compatible_reload_commit. They keep the app from reloading over and over while an update rolls out, and they go away when you close the tab.

Third parties

• Umami Software, Inc. (Umami Cloud) for basic analytics.
• Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) for error monitoring.
• Mapbox for map tiles.

These providers receive technical requests from your browser as you use the app, and at the network level they see the client's IP address.

How to clear data or permissions

You can clear the site data from your browser settings. You can also revoke the geolocation permission in your browser or site permission settings.

We don't show a cookie banner right now, because we use no cookies and no non-essential storage before consent. The local storage described above is either technical or remembers a preference you asked for. We'll revisit that decision if Umami, Sentry, Mapbox, or another tool changes its behavior, starts creating cookies or non-essential storage, or starts requiring prior consent for some other reason.
